Ramirez (IL-03) released the following statement after the passage of H.R. 9495, legislation that would empower the secretary of the Treasury and the executive branch to designate any nonprofit as a “terrorist supporting organization” —without due process— and revoke its tax-exempt status:

Gracias a los miembros de nuestra comunidad que hicieron oír su voz en esta elección. La fuerza de nuestra democracia multirracial y multicultural depende de nuestra participación.
