“Since coming to office in 2023, I have consistently called for executive and congressional action to protect Dreamers and to provide relief to long-term undocumented immigrants across the nation. As the only member of Congress in a mixed-status family, the work to keep families and communities together is deeply personal.

Este mes, mientras celebramos a nuestras comunidades de inmigrantes, sus contribuciones y sus esperanzas para el futuro, recordamos las acciones audaces que debemos tomar para protegerlas. Ramirez (IL-03) and Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) led 16 members of Congress to urge the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to abandon a proposed rule that would undermine basic principles of fairness, the humane treatment of asylum seekers, and our nation’s compliance with due process.
