Ramirez (IL-03) demanded Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s resign after confirming her understanding of her constitutional duties and confronting her with her unconstitutional, illegal weaponization of DHS to pursue a campaign of persecution, mass incarceration, and deportation.

Ramirez (IL-03) hosted Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), House Democrats Vice-Chair Congressman Ted Lieu (CA-36), and Cook County Commissioner Jessica Vásquez for a business crawl of the Milwaukee Avenue’s business corridor to commemorate National Small Business Week.

Washington, DC —  Today, Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez announced the reintroduction of the Securing Help for Immigrants Through Education and Legal Development (SHIELD) Act to ensure that immigrants have access to high-quality legal representation during immigration court proceedings. Ramirez is co-leading the legislation with Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) and Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35).

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez (IL-03), U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), along with Representatives Lou Correa (D-Calif.) led a letter to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) demanding an explanation about the troubling reports alleging due process violations, mistreatment, prolonged detention, and politicized denials of entry at air and land ports since President Trump took office.
