“Since coming to office in 2023, I have consistently called for executive and congressional action to protect Dreamers and to provide relief to long-term undocumented immigrants across the nation. As the only member of Congress in a mixed-status family, the work to keep families and communities together is deeply personal.

The members of Congress are calling on Biden to facilitate pathways to citizenship, streamline renewals, expand parole-in-place, and provide work permits to Dreamers, among other actions

Ramirez (IL-03) and Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) led 16 members of Congress to urge the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to abandon a proposed rule that would undermine basic principles of fairness, the humane treatment of asylum seekers, and our nation’s compliance with due process.

Torres (CA-35), las dos únicas congresistas guatemaltecas-estadounidenses, instaron al secretario de Estado, Antony Blinken, a apoyar la solicitud del presidente de Guatemala, Bernardo Arévalo, para que la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) envíe una misión de observación electoral imparcial para monitorear el proceso de selección de magistrados de los tribunales más altos del país.
