Congresswoman Ramirez Statement in Support of Workers' Right to Collectively Bargain

Chicago, IL — Today, Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez (IL-03) released the following statement:

“I, like the overwhelming majority of Americans, grew up in a working-class family, seeing my parents work long hours at minimum wage jobs just to put food on our table, a roof over our heads, and keep the lights on. Workers are the backbone of our economy, and when they thrive, we all do. As the Representative for Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District, I will always protect and support all workers’ right to collectively bargain for fair wages, safe working conditions, affordable health care, dignified retirement, and just benefits. The Teamsters and other worker unions around the nation are essential to the health of the labor movement in this critical moment. I stand in solidarity with UPS-Teamsters while in their process of negotiation and urge every employer to uphold the worker’s rights to a collective bargain."
