“Republicans say we’re broke. But yesterday, my Republican colleagues voted to give out $4.5 trillion in tax benefits to the rich. If they didn’t give away tax breaks, we would not be broke.

Republicans say they care about working families. But yesterday, my Republican colleagues voted to defund Medicaid and SNAP. Twenty-six percent of my constituents rely on Medicaid.

Republicans say they care about cybersecurity. But my Republican colleagues on the Homeland Security Committee do nothing to stop Elon from illegally accessing Americans’ data.

Republicans say they want to hire federal workers. But my Republican colleagues on the Homeland Security Committee do nothing to stop the Musk-Trump purge of qualified, competent federal employees, including 6,000 veterans.

It is hypocritical to talk about creating jobs when they are firing federal workers. It is hypocritical to talk about hiring people when they are unjustly firing people. It is hypocritical to say you care about working families and then strip constituents of their Medicaid.  I am not voting for bills of hypocrisy. And we must address the biggest threat to national security. His name is Elon Musk.”
