Our District
Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District encompasses portions of both DuPage and Cook County, including a large part of Chicago’s Northwest Side. It contains the Chicago neighborhoods of Belmont Cragin, Montclare, Hermosa, Logan Square, and Avondale; most of Albany Park, Irving Park, Portage Park, and Dunning; and parts of Humboldt Park, West Town, and Austin (Galewood).
Outside of the Chicago city limits, the district includes the Cook County communities of Elmwood Park and Bartlett, most of Hanover Park, as well as parts of Elk Grove Village, Streamwood, Franklin Park, Schiller Park, Elgin, River Grove, Des Plaines, and Mount Prospect. In DuPage, the district covers Wayne, Addison, Bensenville, Glendale Heights, the majority of Wheaton, and parts of Warrenville, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Villa Park, West Chicago, and Wood Dale.
The greatly diverse IL-03 has a vibrant culture and history, with landmarks, theaters, parks, forests, and museums that stretch across the district, telling the stories of the perseverance of our communities. From Barrio Borikén and the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture in Humboldt Park, to the National Veterans Art Museum in Portage Park, McKee House in Glen Ellyn, Cosley Zoo in Wheaton, to Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville and the West Chicago County Prairie, there is so much to see, learn about, and experience in IL-03.
The district is also home to a diverse population, including one of the largest Latino communities in the state, with nearly half of the district’s population (43%) identifying as Latino. See more on the Census page here.
